What is Wolfpack Robotics?

Wolfpack Robotics 3859 is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team comprised of passionate students and dedicated mentors in Elk Grove, California. We participate in the annual FRC competition, designing, building, and competing with a robot to solve complex engineering challenges.

How can I join?

If you’re a student interested in joining our team, we welcome you! Please reach out to us through our “Sign-Ups” page or attend one of our team’s recruitment events. We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for STEM, no prior experience required.

Are there any specific requirements to join the team?

No, there are no specific requirements to join Wolfpack Robotics. We encourage students from all backgrounds and skill levels to participate. Whether you have experience in robotics or are a complete beginner, you’ll find a place on our team.

When does the FRC season start, and how long does it last?

The FRC season typically starts in early January with the announcement of the annual game challenge. The build season lasts for six weeks, during which the team designs, prototypes, and constructs the competition robot. After the build season, we participate in regional and national competitions, which extend until April.

Where does the team meet and how often?

Our team meets regularly in the HF-Cad room on Monday – Saturday during the build season. Additionally, we may hold extra meetings and workshops leading up to competitions. During the off-season, we engage in outreach programs and fun activities to stay connected.

Are there any costs associated with joining the team?

As a non-profit organization, we rely on sponsors and grants to cover the costs of our activities, including registration fees, materials. While there might be some costs, we strive to keep them as affordable as possible, and financial assistance options may be available depending on your circumstances.

Can I join the team if I don't want to be directly involved with building the robot?

Absolutely! While the heart of our team lies in building the robot, we have various sub-teams, such as programming, design, outreach, media, where you can contribute your skills and interests.
